As an Associate EMR Implementation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in deploying and integrating our respiratory diagnostics software with electronic medical record (EMR) systems at healthcare facilities, including secondary care hospitals and GP asthma networks. You'll work closely with clients and internal teams to configure, test, and troubleshoot EMR integrations, ensuring smooth and secure data exchange that enhances patient care. This entry-level role offers a strong foundation in healthcare IT and hands-on experience with EMR system implementation. This role is essential in bridging the gap between our diagnostic technology and EMR platforms, supporting better clinical decision-making and improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in EMR Integration: Support the configuration and setup of EMR integration for our respiratory diagnostic solutions, ensuring data compatibility and regulatory compliance.
- Implementation Support: Help with installation, configuration, and initial testing of EMR interfaces, working to meet project deadlines and client requirements.
- System Testing and Validation: Conduct testing to ensure accurate data transmission between diagnostic devices and EMR systems; document test results and assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Provide on-site or remote support to resolve integration issues during and after implementation, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolved issues; create user documentation to facilitate ongoing use and maintenance of the system.
- Customer Training: Assist in end-user training sessions to familiarize healthcare staff with EMR interfaces and functionalities of our diagnostic solutions.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Coordinate with software developers, project managers, and technical support to resolve issues quickly and enhance the integration process.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for on-site implementations and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, health informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Foundational knowledge of EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) and healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
- Familiarity with SQL databases, networking basics, and healthcare IT security practices.
- Basic experience with software installation, configuration, or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with an ability to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues under supervision.
- Customer Focus: Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and ensure customer satisfaction during the implementation process.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
