About the Role:
Were on the hunt for a dynamic Associate or Of Counsel Attorney to join the hive on behalf of our clients. In this role, youll take ownership of real estate finance and joint venture transactions, utilizing your expertise in real estate finance, joint venture structures, and deal negotiation. Your Mission:
- Real Estate Joint Ventures: Represent institutional equity investors and developers in joint ventures for multifamily, industrial, cold storage, and other commercial real estate projects, taking the lead in drafting and negotiation.
- Real Estate Financing: Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of real estate financing, including debt fund, structured finance, and CMBS-style financings, for multifamily and other commercial assets, often with complex capital stack components.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clients to achieve strategic goals and provide expert legal advice in navigating complex real estate finance structures.
- Legal Strategy and Risk Management: Provide comprehensive legal strategy to ensure risk management and regulatory compliance in each transaction.
Core Competencies:
- Real Estate Law and Transactional Expertise
- Joint Venture Structuring and Negotiation
- Financing Structure Knowledge (Construction, Stabilized, Debt Fund, Structured Finance)
- Strong Client Service and Relationship Building
What You Bring:
- Educational Background: JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in Texas (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years in real estate law, with a focus on finance and joint ventures.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven expertise in real estate joint ventures, finance, and structured transactions, with a record of taking lead roles in drafting and negotiating.
- Skills: Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and client relationship skills; ability to handle complex, high-stakes transactions independently.
Skills Required:
- Real Estate Finance (Construction Loans, Stabilized Financing, CMBS)
- Joint Venture Structuring
- Contract Negotiation and Drafting
- Client Relationship Management
Certifications:
- JD and Active Law License in Texas
- Additional Certifications (if applicable) that support real estate law expertise
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
