Associate Relations Specialist
FUNCTION:
The Associate Relations Specialist partners with field management team to strategically provide guidance, assistance, and support on employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, policy implementation, and employee relations.
INTERACTION
· Reports to the Senior Manager of Human Resources
· Member of the Employee Relations and Compliance Team
· Extensive interaction with all Regional and District Managers in assigned area
· Close working relationship with HR Department
· Some interaction with various people throughout the company, including Risk Management, Customer Care, and other corporate center departments.
· Interaction with Store Associates and Candidates.
EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS
· Consults with regional and district management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
· Interprets and educates client group on HR policies and provides advice on counseling on such policies as necessary.
· Manages and resolves employee relations issues in partnership with field management team.
· Conducts effective, thorough, and objective employee relations investigations.
· Conducts bimonthly meetings or calls with respective business units.
· Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
· Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to field management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
· Works closely with field management to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
· Conducts associate surveys in assigned area and provides consultation and guidance on results.
· Other HR Projects as assigned.
· Perform related duties as assigned.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
· Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or equivalent field –or- equivalent experience required.
· HR Certification preferred (SHRM, HRCI).
- Minimum of 2 or more years of employee relations experience.
- Bilingual English/ Spanish speaking is highly preferred
· Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
· Must possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
· Must have demonstrated proficiency with common office tools such as MS Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
· Knowledge of state and federal labor/ employment law.
· Well-developed judgement and communication (written and verbal).
· Ability to develop professional relationships and credibility with operational management.
· Internal Customer service to our partners and external customer service to our associates is key for this role. Must be willing to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service.
