About the Job
When you work as an Associate Scientist on the Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) team, you get to further our mission by designing, developing, validating, and analyzing samples utilizing molecular and cell biology techniques such as qPCR, ddPCR and cell-based assays within a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) environment laboratory environment.
Our CGT lab team uses a full range of services and viral vector capabilities to analyze gene replacement, gene addition, gene inhibition, gene editing, and cell therapy or transplantation.

In this role, we will rely on you to:
- Ensure adequate supplies to initiate method development, sample preparation and analysis, data interpretation & review, troubleshooting and report preparation
- Design basic experiments & evaluate outcome vs. current best practices, protocols other relevant guidelines; recommend appropriate course of action as necessary
- Act as lead scientist, help to design experiments, provide work instructions and technical training to more junior scientific staff in daily activities
- Prepare data summaries for senior scientists to aid in client updates
- Interact with clients and/or auditors as necessary
- Act a technical expert for all aspects of process design and problem solving
- Proficient at applicable software used for the position (i.e., Analyst, Watson, or equivalent)
- Perform all aspects of job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values
To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 1-3 years of industry experience
- Experience working in a GLP regulated laboratory
- Experience in molecular technologies including PCR (qPCR and ddPCR)
- Experience with procedures for the extraction and quantification of nucleic acids
- Experience preparing laboratory solutions
- Experience working with human blood, primary cells/tissue, and derived cell culture skills at the BSL-II level desired
- Manage material, equipment, and instrumentation
- Review data and documentation for accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Flexible and adaptable - able to work independently and/or in a team environment
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve - Critical Thinking
