- JOB SUMMARY
- Specializes in diagnosis and treatment of hearing and balance problems as it relates to human communication. Diagnoses and evaluates auditory skills as related to functional communication. Establishes recommendations based on diagnostic testing.
- DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Overall performance rating of below indicated essential job duties:
- Completes documentation on all patients
- Participates as member of a multidisciplinary team with other disciplines; participates in performance improvement activities as requested.
- Assists in maintaining the department's hearing aid program; acts as consultant to educational, medical, and other professional groups.
- Attends meetings, conferences, and participates in other activities to promote professional growth; understands and complies with work rules and safety regulations; works any shift necessary for the adequate coverage of the department and additional hours if needed.
- Manages students and any subordinates assigned to them; responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these individuals.
- Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs work flows and procedures.
- EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum requirement:
- Master's degree (M.A. or M.S.)
- Maintains active Audiologist license in the State of Kentucky.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Au.D., (Doctor of Audiology) in the field of Audiology
- Maintains active ASHA Audiology certification.
- Minimum requirement:
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers.
- Occasionally requires travel to and from off-site locations
- The noise level in this position is usually low.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequently required to maintain a stationary position behind a computer or while presenting to individuals or groups.
- Frequently required to move about throughout the Medical Center or while rounding.
- Constantly required to communicate with people electronically, telephonically and in-person requiring talking and hearing.
- Constantly required to operate a computer and telephone.
- Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
