About the Job
An opportunity has opened at an AM 200 Law Firm for a skilled Audit Letter Analyst to become part of a dynamic Risk & Compliance team. This role is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a background in a law firm setting, along with at least three years of direct experience managing audit letters, including receiving, responding to, and tracking them.
Key Responsibilities:
The Audit Letter Analyst will work closely with attorneys to oversee and respond to audit letter requests for clients. Key duties include:
- Reviewing incoming audit letter requests to ensure compliance with ABA guidelines and internal policies
- Analyzing client files for prior responses or engagement letters as part of the audit checklist review
- Conducting attorney polls and tracking responses and disclosures
- Drafting audit letter responses for year-end or update letters, pending attorney review
- Compiling necessary documentation to support audit letter responses
- Coordinating with responsible partners and the Audit Letter Committee to ensure responses align with policy and regulatory requirements
- Coordinating the delivery of responses to auditors
- Assisting in the annual training for attorneys on audit letter responses
- Contributing to updates for audit letter response policies and procedures
- Ensuring accurate entry of billable and non-billable time, and reviewing entries before month-end closing
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, iManage, and other firm applications after training
- A minimum of 3 years' direct experience with audit letters
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience as a legal secretary, paralegal, or in conflicts/information services
- Previous experience in a law firm setting
