Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of patient referrals and insurance authorizations, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected, and processes are followed accurately.
2. Liaise with insurance companies and healthcare providers to secure necessary authorizations for patient care.
3. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
4. Use electronic health record (EHR) systems to track patient referrals and authorizations.
5. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies about authorization and referral status.
6. Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to insurance authorizations and referrals.
7. Continuously review and improve authorization and referral processes to increase efficiency and patient satisfaction.
8. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
2. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
3. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, insurance guidelines, and healthcare procedures.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex processes in a clear and concise manner.
5. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
8. A commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
9. A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
10. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.
