Our dynamic and innovative manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our engineering team, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional products through the use of advanced automation and robotics technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of control systems design, electrical engineering, and the ability to utilize software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge for 3D CAD and electrical design.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Automation/Controls Engineer, you will:
1. Design, develop, and implement automated manufacturing systems, including robotics and control systems.
2. Program and troubleshoot HMI systems to optimize machine and system operations.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
4. Create and maintain accurate and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge.
5. Ensure all automated systems are in compliance with industry safety and design standards.
6. Provide technical support for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
7. Develop and maintain documentation, such as user manuals, system specifications, and training materials.
8. Stay current with advancements in automation technology and incorporate new technology into existing units.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, and control systems design.
3. Proficiency in HMI programming and experience with Allen Bradley control systems.
4. Strong skills in electrical design, with the ability to create and interpret electrical schematics.
5. Experience with 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
8. A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong commitment to safety and quality, with the ability to adhere to industry standards and best practices.
