Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an automation engineer to join one of our Technical and Consulting Services clients in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Manufacturing Industries. The automation engineer plays a pivotal role in the success of automation projects by supporting the engineering team with technical work. This person will be joining a team of 24 other current automation engineers. Project durations may range from 1 week long to up to 6 months.
Responsibilities include learning and utilizing current automation engineering technologies, handling project aspects like documentation, programming, simulation, testing, and commissioning support, and implementing solutions daily to support team objectives. They also conduct I/O checkouts with minimal supervision, read and modify system architecture, wiring, and panel drawings, and maintain PC hardware and software. Additional tasks include basic panel design, specifying components, creating technical documents such as testing plans, and applying critical thinking to solve unique problems. Understanding processes thoroughly and learning basic SCADA application development using tools like InTouch and RSView is also essential.
The role involves planning and coordinating parts of the technical design and engineering implementation, receiving direction from a senior engineer, interacting tactfully with diverse personalities, and providing input and technical support on projects. Engineers work at client facilities under supervision, adhere to good engineering practices and company standards, develop detailed documentation, and maintain a team player approach to project execution. Strong communication skills, resourcefulness, organization, and performing other required duties are also vital to this role.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors degree in technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering)
2-3+ years with Automation in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
Expertise in Reporting: Comprehensive lifecycle experience encompassing SQL programming and queries, SSRS, and Report Builder.
Working knowledge/Experience with the following technologies:
Rockwell Automation: FactoryTalk for HMI, Studio 5000, PlantPAx
HMI (Human-Machine Interface): AVEVA Wonderware, Siemens WinCC, TIA Portal
PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers): Siemens, AutomationDirect
SCADA: Ignition, OSI PI
Must be comfortable travelling up to 40% of the time to client sites to complete projects. null
