About the Role:
We are seeking a courteous, friendly, and professional Automotive Technician dedicated to delivering 100% customer satisfaction. Integrity, attention to detail, dependability, and a commitment to our company values are a must. This mid-level technician role requires previous auto maintenance experience, and related Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and other certifications are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Service Test Drives: Test drive vehicles to verify customer complaints and identify any drivability and other vehicle issues.
- Vehicle Inspections & Diagnostics: Thoroughly inspect vehicle performance and mechanical/electrical systems to diagnose issues accurately and document wear, damage, or potential issues to recommend effective repairs.
- Quality Parts Replacement: Use only high-quality parts for repairs, maintaining our 3-year/36,000-mile warranty standard.
- Post-Service Test Drives: Confirm repairs and services with a thorough test drive on a predetermined route established by the store manager.
- Thorough Repairs: Recommend and execute repairs that resolve customer concerns, ensuring reliability for up to 3 years or 36,000 miles.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform basic care and maintenance, such as oil changes, tune-ups, flushes, repair and replace brake components, suspension systems, and steering mechanisms.
- Cooling System Maintenance: Service and repair radiators, thermostats, water pumps, and other cooling system components.
- Electrical Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components, such as lighting, wiring, and battery systems.
- Advanced Mechanical Work: Perform diagnostics and mechanical repairs, including intricate electrical system troubleshooting.
Other specific repairs and expectations can vary by technician level and experience. We are a full-service automotive repair shop, so we welcome any technician with either the skills to perform or the ability and passion to learn! Requirements
Education and/or Experience: Must meet or exceed standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. High School diploma or GED preferred. Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred. Must have experience and have working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods. Technicians must have all of the necessary hand tools needed to efficiently perform the duties as well as an ability and willingness to train others.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license required. NC Safety Inspection License and enhanced Emissions license is preferred.
Computer Skills: Entry level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications
Reasoning Ability: Ability to manage priorities and be able to adapt to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
