Overview
JST is currently seeking a Azure Cloud Engineer/Specialist to join our team. The Azure Cloud Engineer/Specialist would manage the Azure cloud environment and ensure its availability, performance, and security. The Azure Cloud Engineer/Specialist will be a key member of the Information Management team, working to ensure our Azure environment is running smoothly and efficiently.This is a full-time remote position. Azure Cloud Engineer Responsibilities
- Provisioning resources and maintaining the cloud environment by adding new servers or databases as needed
- Monitoring performance metrics and troubleshooting issues with cloud environments to ensure high levels of performance
- Coordinating with vendors and other internal teams to ensure that any issues are quickly resolved
- Managing security for cloud environments by monitoring access requests and reviewing security logs for suspicious activity
- Maintaining and upgrading existing systems to ensure optimal performance
- Designing and managing complex multi-tenant clouds, including creating virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, and other resources
- Developing new features and functionality for existing systems while maintaining performance standards
- Monitoring system performance to ensure that it meets business requirements, identifying potential issues before they become problems, and recommending solutions
- Providing technical support for the cloud computing platform to internal customers who use the platform for their work
- Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud-based solutions
- Configure and manage virtual networking, storage accounts, and blob containers
- Set up and configure virtual machines, web apps, and SQL databases
- Monitor activity and performance of all Azure resources and services using Azure Monitor
- Automate tasks using Azure Automation and PowerShell scripting
- Implement Azure Active Directory and role-based access control
- Manage identities and access for users, groups, and applications
- Configure Azure Site Recovery for disaster recovery and business continuity
- Backup and restore data using Azure Backup and Azure Storage
- Monitor costs and optimize spending on Azure resources
- Stay up to date on new features and capabilities in Azure
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Azure resources
Azure Cloud Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration, including Azure cloud administration
- Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and architecture
- Hands-on experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automating Azure tasks
- Demonstrated experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Sentinel implementing monitoring and security solutions
- Experience managing AAD users management and expanding Office 365 environments
- Strong communication skills and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving cloud environment
Azure Cloud Engineer Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration, including Azure cloud administration
- Azure Administrator, Solutions Architect, and Azure Security certification (AZ or SC)
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Experience with Azure cost management and optimization strategies
- Experience with Azure security and compliance, particularly with Government Community Cloud (GCC) environments
- Skilled in data migration and management using Azure Storage solutions and OneDrive
- Experience in implementing Azure-based disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Proficient in Log Analytics KQL
- Experience developing automated cloud tasks using Azure Logic Apps
- Experience with MIM, RBAC, PKI, and PIM
- Experience with configuration, migration and administration of SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and Teams
- Experience with Azure ARC servers
Required Clearances and Screenings
- An active Secret clearance is required
- MUST be able to pass a US Government Security Clearance
