The Role
We are seeking a qualified BCBA Clinician for our Center and Home-Based Children’s Services department. The BCBA Clinician is responsible for conducting assessments to determine the needs of children with Special Healthcare Needs, as well as continually monitoring and documenting the child’s progress and overall adjustment to the program. The Clinician’s functions are performed as part of a team and include development and implementation of an individual’s treatment plan.
Essential Work Duties
- Conduct assessments to identify needs for programming and behavioral needs to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Developing curricula and programs designed to treat problem behaviors and enhancing skill acquisition.
- Implement behavioral intervention strategies and provide direct treatment to clients.
- Training and supervising BTs, RBTs, and interns in the implementation of ABA treatment plans.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be a BCBA with experience working in an ABA clinical and home base setting. Trudeau’s ABA Center focuses on increasing skill sets for clients ages 2-6. Trudeau’s ABA Center focuses on daily living skills, activities of daily living, learning pre-school ready skills, and communication. Trudeau’s ABA home base setting involves carry over of goals (from a clinical setting to the home for generalization). A BCBA skilled in assessments and program acquisition is highly preferred.
- Collaborating and providing training to team members in accordance with best practice and agency standards.
- Facilitating family and staff meetings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Design, analyze, and modify programming accordingly.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed.
- Maintain clinical records. Ensure records are current and in compliance with all regulatory standards and internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordination of care across settings.
- Facilitating family and staff meetings.
- Stay current with research and best practices in the field of ABA.
- Provide training, mentorship, supervision to employees including BTs, RBTs, and interns.
- Meeting deadlines for all treatment programming including treatment renewals, progress reports, and insurance requirements.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
- Education
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and licensed in Rhode Island (LBA).
- Master’s degree in human services or related field.
- Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience working with children in a center-based setting.
- Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of applied behavior analysis.
- Experience developing individual child curriculum.
- Experience in training others to implement best practices.
- Skills in effective communication (both verbal & written) with parents and community- based officials.
- After school availability (3:00 pm-6:00 pm) is required to meet client needs in the home-based treatment setting.
- Must successfully pass Pre-employment physical as well as BCI and CANTs screenings.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and automobile insurance preferred.
