BEHAVIORAL HEALTH LICENSED PROF CLINICAL COUNSELOR - Ephraim McDowell Health

Under the general supervision of the Behavioral Health Services Director, provides social work and counseling services for patients and their families and coordinates with patients, families, and the health care team to facilitate efficient discharge and/or transfer from the hospital; assists families in filing for financial assistance and provides crisis intervention and follow up services. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).

Works standard work week, Monday through Friday, but may have to adjust schedule to meet deadlines or in case of emergencies. Works in both an office environment and inpatient care areas. In on-call rotation for inpatient, when needed, working as Intake Coordinator. A high degree of independent judgment and initiative are required. The task of this job does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Moderate amount of stress in working with patients and families.

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited school of Professional Counseling.

Experience: Two (2) years experience as Social Worker and/or Discharge Planner/Counselor in Psychiatric clinical setting.

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Minimal computer skills are required. Utilizes communication skills with a high degree of effectiveness in working with patients, families, physicians, hospital personnel and referral agencies. Possesses skills necessary to plan and coordinate a social service program and to work effectively with other disciplines. Should possess knowledge of community, social, health and welfare programs.

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) within three (3) months of hire. CPI Annually.
