Batch/Compound Manager - Fisk Industries

ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Batch/Compound Manager you will be responsible for managing the production of cosmetic batches, ensuring accurate formulation of raw materials, adherence to quality standards, and efficient workflow.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the daily batching and compounding operations, including the preparation and blending of raw materials according to batch formulation and production schedules.

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of batching/compounding staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and coaching, to ensure a high-performing team.

• Develop and maintain batch records, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and work instructions for batching and compounding processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

• Collaborate with R&D and quality control teams to develop and optimize batch formulations, ensuring consistency, stability, and quality of finished products.

• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods related to batching and compounding operations, and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to maintain adequate supplies.

• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and environmental regulations in all batching and compounding activities.

• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of batching/compounding equipment and machinery, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

• Conduct regular inspections and audits of batching/compounding areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with sanitation standards.

• Implement process improvements and efficiency initiatives to optimize batching and compounding operations, reduce waste, and improve productivity.

• Participate in cross-functional teams and meetings to address production issues, resolve conflicts, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; previous experience in batch/compound management or production management, preferably in the cosmetic industry, is required.

• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities effectively.

• In-depth knowledge of batching and compounding processes and equipment in the cosmetic industry, including mixers, tanks, and blending machines.

• Familiarity with cosmetic formulation principles, raw materials, and regulatory requirements related to cosmetic manufacturing.

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
