Behavioral Health Specialist II - Youth and Family Engagement - Fairfax County

This position is with Youth and Family Outpatient Services supporting both the Chantilly Center and Northwest Center and is for 30 hours per week (.75 FTE). Provides outreach, engagement and case coordination of youth with mental health, substance misuse and intellectual disabilities. With the appropriate credentialing, this position may also provide case management and evidence-Based interventions in individual, family, and group modalities; assessing client needs; service planning; linking clients to community supports, service coordination with other agencies; and participating in comprehensive services act functions. Case management responsibilities include monitoring treatment compliance, monitoring effectiveness of medication, advocating for client's changing needs, developing a crisis plan for the client at risk, and helping older adolescents plan for transition to adult services either within the CSB or into the community. Additional duties include: monitoring consumer and family treatment plan progress; using collaborative documentation to enter clinical services notes; managing length of stay within clinical services in accordance with progress, service needs, service usage and other requirements; maintaining accurate and detailed clinical database records and other documentation according to all local, state and federal standards; performing utilization management activities relating to requirements of insurance companies, Medicaid, and CSB other policies and procedures; and providing clinical services to our community partners, possibly at different locations. Supervision for licensure may be provided.
Note: This position is .75 FTE (30 hours per week) with full-time health and prorated leave benefits. Work schedule is flexible during the week and requires one evening until 7pm.

- The CSB may provide clinical supervision for employees who are registered as licensed eligible mental health in one of the following areas: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- License/Certification Reimbursement - Reimbursement for job related licenses and/or certifications once per year.
