The Behavorial Health Department has a paid internship opportunity with their Friday Night Live Program. This opportunity will provide the intern experience with youth development and leadership strategies as well as event planning, data entry systems, team building, and the ability to inspire and support others. In addition, the intern will leave the program equipped with the ability to work with diverse populations.
This internship will be located in Indio with a 2-year minimum commitment. The position requires the intern to report on-site with an anticipated maximum 20-hour workweek.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Student Interns will assist Friday Night Live Program Coordinator with Youth Development program.
Duties will include but is not limited to:
- Event planning and implementation
- Assist with Youth Counsel meetings, school-based meetings, and activities
- Support with high energy activities
- Help with creating flyers
- Assist with music set up and sound equipment
- Manage mileage logs, data entry, and transporting youth to events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Current enrollment in or recently graduated from high school, or a Bachelor's, Master's program at an accredited college or university in the following areas of study: Arts or Humanities, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Physical or Natural Science, Psychology, Sociology, or other Behavioral Sciences, Public or Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Studies, or similar. Recent graduates are eligible to intern for up to one year from their graduation date.
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.5
Knowledge and Experience in Publisher, Microsoft, MAC, and general computer skills, working with youth and sound/lighting systems.
Ability to: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.; take direction and supervision; benefit and learn rapidly from on-the-job training; think logically and write clearly and concisely; maintain cooperative relations with co-workers and the public.
