About the Job
The Bell Valet Attendant, under the supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor or Front Desk Supervisor, is responsible for greeting customers arriving and departing from Casino facility. The position must provide attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, both internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Greets arriving and departing guests from the Casino facility.
- Opens and holds doors for customers.
- Offers luggage services to guests; handling and delivering luggage to rooms.
- Keeps lobby area and outside lobby area clean and neat.
- Provides laundry pick up and delivery services to guests.
- Delivers amenities to guest rooms when requested.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:(includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Attends meetings and required trainings.
- Complies with Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- All other job related duties as assigned.
CONTACTS:
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, customers and outside vendors/service providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position very heavy with lifting of 100 pounds and frequent lifting of more than 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant use of hearing, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision and driving; frequent standing, walking, sitting, carrying/lifting/pushing/pulling, reaching, manual handling and use of smell and bending; occasional stooping and kneeling. Working conditions include constant exposure to weather, frequent exposure extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity, noise and air quality and occasional vibration. Potential hazards include constant exposure to clients and infectious exposure frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to chemicals and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: N/A
Certification/License: Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver's license review and insurability standards with Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must be able to obtain Chauffeurs license within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of or the ability to learn the principles and processes for providing customer service including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have basic math skills. Must have ability to operate motor vehicles. Must be able to work under pressure and handle difficult situations. Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision. Must have knowledge of or be able to learn locations of local airports. Ability to enter into Canada to perform airport shuttle runs preferred. Native American preferred.
