The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking to fill a current opening for a Big Game Depredation & Recreational Access Program Coordinator within the Wildlife Bureau program at our Headquarters in Boise.

Responsibilities:
- Provide statewide project management oversight
- Coordinate implementation of the Department's Big Game Depredation Prevention & Compensation Programs, Big Game Winterfeeding Program and Landowner Appreciation Program (LAP)
- Coordinate and implement the Department's public access programs including AccessYes!, Large Tracts Access Program and recreation access MOU with Idaho Department of Lands
- Coordinate the Department’s upland game and waterfowl Habitat Improvement Programs (HIP)
- Represent the Department on multi-agency committees and at various meetings with federal agencies, special interest groups, community and other state organizations, Native American tribes, and other governmental entities
- Coordinate and provide program guidance to regional Landowner Sportsmen Coordinators, depredation technicians and access program staff
- Represent the Department at meetings that affect fish and wildlife resources and public recreational access opportunities
- Provide technical assistance to Department management and regional staff on resource management, depredation and access programs and policies
- Hires, trains staff
- Manage multiple statewide budgets and grants
- Develop and recommend Department policy and rules
- Testifies at hearings, develop legislative packets and reports and participates in media interviews
Minimum Qualification: (This qualification is required.)
- Experience demonstrating considerable knowledge of wildlife and/or fisheries management. (Typically gained by at least nine years of professional work experience in Wildlife Management or a closely related field OR has successfully completed a bachelor's degree in Wildlife or Fisheries Management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and has at least five years of professional work experience in Wildlife Management or a closely related field OR has successfully completed a master's degree in Wildlife Management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and has at least three years of professional work experience in Wildlife or a closely related field.)
Minimum Qualification Specialty Areas: (These qualifications are required for the current opening.)
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating wildlife and/or fisheries management programs, with preferred experience leading regional or statewide big game depredation or recreation access programs. (Typically gained by at least three years of professional experience developing, implementing, and evaluating wildlife and/or fisheries management programs, with preferred experience leading regional or statewide big game depredation or recreation access programs.)
- Experience with collaborative working relationships involving diverse stakeholders (Typically gained by at least three years of experience working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement program objectives.)
- Experience preparing and monitoring a budget. (Typically gained by at least three years of experience developing, implementing, monitoring, & managing regional or statewide budgets.)
The ideal candidate will have experience with project management training and/or experience. Additional consideration may be given at the time of interview to candidates who have this training or experience.
