Bilingual Collections Specialist - Robert Half

Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual for the position of a Spanish Bilingual Collections Specialist. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will interact with customers to collect payments, negotiate suitable payment plans, and maintain accurate records of financial transactions. Ultimately, the Spanish Bilingual Collections Specialist will help our company recover its debts while ensuring maximum customer retention and maintaining our company's reputation. Responsibilities: + Contact customers to request payments for overdue debts in both English and Spanish. + Negotiate suitable payment arrangements with customers facing financial hardship. + Make follow-up calls or emails to ensure payments are made as per agreed-upon payment plan. + Update and maintain accurate and confidential customer data records. + Assist in preparing reports detailing the status of collections and cooperatively work with the legal department if needed. + Communicate with customers to resolve any billing discrepancies and answer any inquiries they might have. + Collaborate with other departments to address customer inquiries or disputes promptly and accurately. + Maintain strict compliance with all applicable laws and company policies related to debt collection practices. + Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating empathy and understanding. + Use recovery strategies and actions to manage losses due to non-payment. Requirements Requirements: + Proven work experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role in a financial institution. + Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal). + Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills. + Excellent customer service and communication skills. + Strong understanding of billing procedures. + Proficiency with database software and MS Office Suite. + Ability to maintain calm and composed under pressure. + High ethical standards and a strong desire for long-term customer retention.
