Billing Specialist / Staff Accountant - Virtual Company

About the Job
- Review prior day invoicing
- Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
- Classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete
- Analyze and review loan ledger report and maintain running balance spreadsheet
- Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records
- Process credit memos and debit memos
- Invoice all final machine shipments – offset down payments or other funds received prior to machine shipments
- Preform other customer offsets as directed
- Maintain customer sales tax exemptions in third party software
- Review and reconcile credit card payments
- Work in conjunction with accounts payable team to respond to all inquiries received within a timely manner
- Serve as backup to accounts receivable team for vacations, sick days, etc.
- Assist the accounting department with audits
- Assist in accounts receivable collections as needed
- Perform month end close duties
- High School Diploma or equivalency - Required
- Any of the following degrees: Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting; Bachelor of Science in Accounting; BSBA in Accounting; Or an Associates Degree in Accounting Technology/Technician and Bookkeeping plus 4-6 years relevant experience.
- Must be able to work under deadlines
- Strong understanding of receivables processed to assist in achieving days sales outstanding goals
- Strong customer orientation
- Adopt and promote lean practices in all activities, considering the elimination of wasteful resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer
