Bindery Operator – Print ShopLocation: Denver, COJob Description:A large and well-established print shop located in the Denver area, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bindery Operator to join our team. This position involves operating and maintaining a range of bindery equipment while supporting various tasks around the shop as needed.Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the following bindery equipment:
- MBO B20 Folder – for folding large volumes of printed material with precision.
- Challenge Programmable Cutters – to cut paper to required sizes and specifications.
- Shanklin & Sergeant Shrink Wrap Machines – for wrapping finished products for shipping or storage.
- Challenge Drills – for drilling holes in printed materials for binding or finishing.
- Bostich & Deluxe Single Head Stitchers – for stapling or stitching printed products.
- Manual Padding Equipment – for padding and gluing stacks of paper to create pads or books.
- Assist with manual finishing tasks as needed, including hand collating, binding, and preparing finished products for shipment.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist with other general shop duties, including but not limited to inventory management, equipment setup, and material handling.
- Must have previous experience in a bindery or print shop setting.
- Familiarity with MBO folders, Challenge cutters, and other finishing equipment is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and repetitive motion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
