COMPENSATION: $25.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Role Summary:
The Biomedical Engineer Co-Op will be working alongside our existing electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and software engineers on medical device development. This role is multi-disciplinary, supporting the development, testing, and improvement of SectionStar™, a mechatronic device. The ideal candidate will be eager to apply their technical knowledge in a collaborative and innovative environment. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and development of biomedical devices and systems

Design and execute experiments in a wet lab environment with scientific rigor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices

Gather data and interpret results for product testing and validation

Assist in the development and testing of adhesive formulations, ensuring optimal performance and biocompatibility

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve engineering challenges

Support the documentation of design processes, test results, and engineering changes

Participate in meetings to discuss project progress ad provide updates on tasks

Research current trends and advancements in biomedical engineering
Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry or a related field

Previous laboratory or work experience in developing test parameters and documenting results

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of materials science and biological systems

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Familiarity with CAD software (ex: SolidWorks, AutoCAD) a plus

Basic understanding of regulatory requirements in the medical device industry a plus
