COMPENSATION: $25.00/hr - $38.00/hr

Role Summary:

The Biomedical Engineer Co-Op will be working alongside our existing electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and software engineers on medical device development. This role is multi-disciplinary, supporting the development, testing, and improvement of SectionStar™, a mechatronic device. The ideal candidate will be eager to apply their technical knowledge in a collaborative and innovative environment. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and development of biomedical devices and systems

• Design and execute experiments in a wet lab environment with scientific rigor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices

• Gather data and interpret results for product testing and validation

• Assist in the development and testing of adhesive formulations, ensuring optimal performance and biocompatibility

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve engineering challenges

• Support the documentation of design processes, test results, and engineering changes

• Participate in meetings to discuss project progress ad provide updates on tasks

• Research current trends and advancements in biomedical engineering

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry or a related field

• Previous laboratory or work experience in developing test parameters and documenting results

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of materials science and biological systems

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• Familiarity with CAD software (ex: SolidWorks, AutoCAD) a plus

• Basic understanding of regulatory requirements in the medical device industry a plus
