Kadant Solutions Division develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of doctoring, cleaning, and filtration systems and related consumables used in process industries worldwide. Our products, technologies, and services play an integral role in enhancing process efficiency, optimizing energy utilization, and maximizing productivity in resource-intensive businesses.
Produce items from various types of metal and non‐metal materials to blue print, sketches and work
instructions.
Exemplary Duties/Responsibilities
* Operator may layout own work, setting up, adjusting and operating some, but not all of the
following machines: shear, drill press, punch presses, bevel grinders, skiver, Hatchett grinder, etc.
* Responsible for producing product within specification and applicable procedures/work instructions,
drawings and quality documents.
* Perform basic machine maintenance.
* Ability to assemble, drill, press, sheer and use hand tools.
* Perform some, but not all processing operations in the fabrication of a variety of doctor blades: cut
stock to length, flatten, straighten, punch, blank, perforate, tap and rip to width, rout contours to
shape blade and assemble.
* Pull coil stock for orders.
* Maintain a clean, organized and efficient work area.
* Fully responsible for the quality of their own work.
* Comply with all company safety policies, procedures and practices.
* Participate in efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
* Work overtime as required
* Perform other related duties as assigned
* Pay rate is based on experience and skill level.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge: Basic shop mathematics and technologies. Able to read basic blue prints. Understand order
of operations and good manufacturing practices.
Skill: Able to correctly use and read measuring tools (i.e. tape measure, micrometers, Vernier calipers).
Control the equipment to hold quality requirements, drawing dimensions and tolerances consistently.
Verbal and written communication skills to convey information within the organization. Ability to solve
practical manufacturing problems with little guidance. Average computer skills. Able to prioritize tasks.
Physical/Environmental Demands: Possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items with
fingers. Able to lift, carry, move, push or pull up to 40 lbs. without aid of a device. Work in shop
conditions with moving equipment, noise, dust and temperature swings. Periodically exposed to hazards
of a serious nature requiring care in use of machinery and other equipment necessitating the use of
personal protection equipment.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of manufacturing
experience with exposure to fabricating and assembly operations. Experience with devices to lift
irregular shaped objects (i.e. cranes, power lifts, and methods of lifting).
