Position: Neuroscience - Neurosurgery Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – PRN 

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Toledo, OH, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurosurgery Inpatient team on a PRN basis. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary clinical team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients within our Neuro Hospitalist department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, delivering exceptional care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• ·                Function as an independent healthcare provider, delivering high-quality care to patients in an inpatient setting.
• ·                Collaborate closely with neurosurgery attendings, residents, nurses, and other clinical/ancillary staff throughout each shift.
• ·                Conduct thorough history and physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate accurate diagnoses.
• ·                Prescribe and manage medications, as well as provide patient and family education.
• ·                Perform procedures including the placement and removal of ICP monitors and VP shunts.
• ·                Provide professional services consistent with the hospital's capabilities, with a patient base comprising 70% trauma service and 30% elective service.
• ·                Utilize virtual health technologies, including intouch devices, as needed to enhance patient care.
• ·                Benefit from full-range imaging and lab services, physical therapy services, and close case management collaboration.
• ·                Access resources such as Neurocritical care at St. Vincent, a Comprehensive Stroke Center with Endovascular services, and Neuropsychologist support.

Qualifications:

• ·                Board certification as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• ·                Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of Ohio.
• ·                Eligibility to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority necessary for specific practice requirements.
