About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to support and maintain books using QuickBooks Software. Day to day responsibilities will include maintenance of accounting data related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (bill entry and payment, invoice entry). Reconciliation of loan, bank, and employee advance ledgers. Preparation of reports and information as needed. Assist with Commercial Insurance and Employee Benefit renewal. The role will also require assistance for completing filing, scanning, and processing of paperwork. Join us today!
Part Time: 3 days a week, 8 hours a day. During Tax season (1/1 - 4/30), could work up to 25 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Accounts Payable:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and send invoices to clients in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue payments, and resolve billing issues.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide financial information to management for decision-making purposes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations related to payroll.
- Strong understanding of dividends and interest income.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel), QuickBooks or accounting software.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion.
- Communication:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
