Job Description:
Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Branch Manager to lead our Harrisburg, PA office. The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day office operations, including business development, project management, staff supervision, and client relations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the engineering consulting industry, strong leadership skills, and a passion for driving growth and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Harrisburg office, including setting goals, developing business plans, and implementing strategies to achieve growth targets.
- Oversee business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and expanding market share in the Harrisburg region.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the office, including project staffing, budgeting, resource allocation, and scheduling.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and support staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and professional development.
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and client expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, representing the company’s interests and maintaining positive relationships.
- Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to track the performance of the office and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and incorporate new technologies and methodologies to enhance service offerings and competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in engineering consulting, with a track record of progressively responsible roles and demonstrated leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, ability to get PE in (Ohio and West Virginia are a plus).
- Structural engineering design experience preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of PennDOT Programs, ECMS and MBS2 Systems is required.
- Familiarity with PennDOT and PA Turnpike policies, standards, and specifications.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis. Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies, cultivate client relationships, and win new projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and leading large-scale projects from inception to completion.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of local market conditions, regulatory requirements, and industry trends in the Harrisburg area.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
