Breastfeeding Peer Counselor/WIC Nutrition Assistant at The Lundquist Institute

The Lundquist Institute is looking for a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor I/WIC Nutrition Assistant to join our team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2 year experience working as a Nutrition Assistant I in the WIC program or equivalent.

· Certified WIC Nutrition Assistant.

· Personal breastfeeding/chestfeeding experience of 6 months exclusive breastfeeding/chestfeeding.

Description of Duties:

· Provides nutrition education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding services and support to expectant and new mothers enrolled in the Lundquist WIC Breastfeeding Program and their family members via video conferencing, in-person, and telephone contacts.

· Utilizes the Peer Counselor (PC) database to document individual education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding contacts with participants enrolled in the Lundquist WIC Breastfeeding Program.

· Manages a articipant caseload and documents the interactions electronically in the PC database and the WIC Information System Exchange (WIC WISE) database.

· Certifies WIC applicants and participants, and conducts WIC WISE follow up contacts according to prescribed program regulations and procedures.
