Under direction, incumbent supervises and coordinates the work of the Building Automation Controls Technicians. The incumbent makes hiring selections, ensures that new and existing staff receive proper training, assigns schedules and directs technicians in the installation, repair, HVAC Controls, and programming of campus energy management systems and associated equipment. Performs all administrative duties necessary to manage department workload and assignments, maintains appropriate recordkeeping of materials, and submits timecards for accurate labor charges. Determines standards for employee performance and evaluates employee performance. Works with Campus Energy Manager to ensure building automation systems operate to maximize energy conservation efforts. Leads implementation of energy conservation projects on campus in collaboration with Campus Energy Manager.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $85,400.00 - $121,000.00 (Annual)
Required:
- Solid knowledge and skills in the specialty craft supervised.
- Solid supervisory skills to include organization, scheduling, assigning work and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic and DDC control components and scenarios, as well as all major building systems as they relate to controls. Able to troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate all control components.
- Skills to actively promote and maintain safety standards.
- Solid skills to effectively select and evaluate staff, and to appropriately handle disciplinary issues.
- Ability to perform maintenance, installation, and programming of software and field panels for Siemens, Johnson Controls, and Niagara. Possess technical expertise and knowledge create new or modify existing programs in the server and local devices.
- Experience using manufacturer's equipment manuals and specifications to ascertain proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Experience using this information in ordering and replacing necessary parts.
- Ability to read and work from as-built mechanical, electrical, controls, and site drawings to identify and analyze all Building Automation Systems.
- Ability to create new and modify existing graphical interfaces to campus building automation system in Siemens Insight, Johnson Controls Metasys, and Tridium Niagara graphical interface packages.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training and / or Two years technical training.
- Certification in a specialty skilled trade required.
- 5 years experience in building automation technology.
- 2 years technical school training or job-related equipment training in Building Automation Systems.
Preferred:
- Experience maintaining and configuring Phoenix venturi valves and Aircuity centralized demand control ventilation systems.
- 3 or more years experience in management, leadership, or other supervisory role.
Special Conditions:
- May be working in confined spaces. Ability to wear a respirator.
