Summary:
Workforce Group (WFG) is seeking experienced Florida Licensed Building Plans Reviewers, to review/approve structural building plans associated with Hurricane Milton's rebuilding activity. Requires Certification as a Building Plans Examiner as issued by the State of Florida through the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board. In this role, you will assess construction documents for projects submitted post-hurricane to ensure they meet local, state, and federal codes. This role helps accelerate rebuilding efforts by performing rapid and detailed reviews of plans related to structural repairs, and electrical, and plumbing systems.
Location: Fort Myers, Florida
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve plans for residential, commercial, and public buildings for compliance with the Florida Building Code.
- Identify deficiencies or code violations in blueprints and recommend changes.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify technical issues.
- Work closely with local officials to ensure compliance with zoning and safety standards.
- Prioritize emergency repair plans to facilitate rapid restoration efforts.
- Other related job duties as required.
Qualifications:
Active Florida Building Plans Examiner License. A minimum of four years working with a general contractor and experience in reviewing plans. Extensive knowledge of building codes and current procedures. Experience with Project Docs Software or Auto CAD preferred. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineers and stakeholders.
