T h is position will be a part of the Fort Bend Small Business Development Center, which has multiple locations throughout Ft. Bend County. This position is currently expected to report to the location in Missouri City , Texas but may be expected to periodically report to other locations i n Ft. Bend County.

This position is responsible  for providing professional business  advising services  to pre-venture ,  early stage and  growing companie s . A key part of the position also includes engaging and helping build re l at i onships with stakeho l ders , including : t h e SBA and its resource part n ers,  l enders , Chambe r s of Commer c e , and other commun i ty partners.

The ideal candidate will have

• S trong  communication ski ll s
• The ability to  work  independently.
• Experience in business advisi n g services areas such as budgeting, fina n cia l  analysis , mar k eting  research,  business plan deve l opmen t ,  capita l  acc e ss. and o th er business-related areas .
• A  combination  of experience related to sma ll  bus i ne ss  consulting ,  banking  and/or  finance .  and sma ll  busi n ess  ownership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office,  PowerPoint,  and Excel

Frequen t  travel w i t h  the use of  a  personal vehicle  is  r equ i red . Out of  t ow n t ravel may be required periodica ll y .

The SBDC prog r am  i s  f u nded through  a cooperative  agreement with  t he U .  S. S m a ll  B u si n ess  A dministr a tion (SB A ) and t h e S t ate o f  Texas .  The continuation of a ll  SBDC positio n s are con t i n ge n t on  t he cont inu ation of  f unding  fr om  t he SBA and  t he S t ate of  T exas at c u rrent  l eve l s.
