Due to our growth, we are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer who will be responsible for understanding analytical and operational challenges within eimagine and our partners. Creating engaging visualizations to display accurate, meaningful information that empowers our partners to make decisions is necessary for this role. Successful candidates must be resourceful and detail-oriented with a passion for understanding their client’s business and implementing data-driven change in a way that fulfills that need. This hire will be heavily involved with health and human services-related data and visualization. Previous experience and/or interest in visualizing health data, especially that related to Medicaid and its population, is a plus. An ideal candidate will be comfortable creating visualizations quickly, working in ambiguity, and creatively approaching questions and challenges.
Description of Duties:
- Coordinate with eimagine, our partners, and clients, to understand any analytical and operational challenges
- Collaborate with a rapid response team to learn quickly and respond to ad hoc needs
- Design, develop, and format polished data visualizations (reports and dashboards) to support generated user stories from stakeholders
- Work with end users to effectively translate requirements into accurate/meaningful visual reporting tools
- Determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples
- Publish and maintain workbooks to appropriate QA, production, and public servers
- Communicate and document technical specifications to ensure proper and optimized techniques, queries, and final deliverables are understood and incorporated into data and analytics processes
- Use source code repositories like TFS for source code version control
- Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction through the implementation, investigation, analysis, training, and relationship-building efforts
- Aid in data workshops
- Adept at debugging and highlighting current data issues
- Willingness to explore and test future technologies
- Experience and certifications with BI platforms Tableau and Power BI
- Experience with database development and data manipulation using PL/SQL and T-SQL
- Experience manipulating datasets of various shapes and size
- Strong visual design skills, understanding of ethical visual best practices, and understanding of relational and dimensional databases and data warehousing structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Experience with geocoding and map visualizations
- Experience generating public-facing visualizations
- Experience creating mobile-friendly visualizations
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
- Resourceful self-starter and highly motivated team player
- Experience with data modeling, database design, and query performance tuning and optimization
- Team Player with ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Background in Scrum/Agile Project management (JIRA, Monday, Trello, Microsoft Dev Ops, Etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or proven work experience in related field required
