About the Job
Joining BCG’s Climate & Sustainability (C&S) Practice Area on 12-month fixed term contract (renewable) as a Sr Business Analyst, you will work closely with the C&S PA Management & Operations team to support the team in making data-driven decisions moving forward. The analyst will play a key role in supporting 2 key activities:
1. Business Intelligence and Investment desk: updating trackers, building data pipelines, tagging cases, reviewing investment performance etc – working directly with our Finance & Investments Sr Manager (Counterpart based on US East Coast)
2. Impact desk: building a dashboard to help us track and visualise impact, sending out impact surveys, collecting data etc (Counterpart based in London)
You’ll be working closely with the C&S Practice Area/Sector/Business Managers and Global Practice Area Executive Director to manage and deliver financial reporting needs, using relevant data tools/environment within BCG. You’ll be working as a thought partner and support our teams to bring insights to light through data analysis and visualization. You’ll also maintain a suite of dashboards that will be leveraged globally by our business leaders and executive teams to enable data-based decision support. This role is perfect for a strong all-rounder who wants to build their understanding of a business and hone their skills within the field of business intelligence and analytics.
Required Skills:
1. Tableau Dashboard Development: To lead our data desk, capable of building and maintaining interactive dashboards in Tableau and associated data warehouses. The individual should have experience in data visualisation, manage data access rules and the ability to proactively address data quality and operational issues.
2. Proficiency in Excel: The ability to handle complex spreadsheets, utilize advanced formulas, and conduct data analysis is essential for our daily operations.
3. Admin Management: Support in managing B-code openings, ensuring that all entries are accurately recorded and maintained.
4. Trello Data Accuracy: Tracking and ensuring the accuracy of data in Trello cards.
5. Agility/Flexibility/Independence: Working collaboratively and effectively in a virtual environment, with a team across multiple time zones. Able to execute tasks independently with certain level of ambiguity and limited (virtual) face-to-face time with direct management.
Additional preferred skills:
1. Coding Skills in VBA and Python: Expertise in VBA for Excel automation and Python for data manipulation and analysis will greatly enhance our productivity, particularly in the investment process and business intelligence
2. Collaboration with Social Impact Team: We need to work closely with the Social Impact team to make iterative improvements to the C&S/SI online investment form. This involves understanding feedback, implementing changes, and ensuring the form meets all requirements.
3. Curiosity in Climate and Sustainability: Bring analytical mind to ESG, flexibility and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to learn ESG topics (e.g. net zero, carbon accounting, green business builds, adaptation & resilience) and able to propose innovative ideas
