The Busser is responsible for clearing and setting tables, assisting servers with table service, and running food and beverages to guests. This is a great position for someone looking to get started in the hospitality field. Make a day's pay in only a five hour shift! Work is split between our candle lit indoor dining room and our beautiful outdoor stage located along the Downtown Riverwalk.
Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.
Essential Functions:
- Approaches guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Maintains a high standard of cleanliness in dining and service areas.
- Assists in expediting food, beverages, and china.
- Assists in pre-bussing tables, removing dirty dishes and glassware.
- Resets tables and dining areas in a timely fashion.
- Complies with all departmental standard operating procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a stand up for position for long periods of time (minimum 5 hours).
- Ability to work nights, weekend, and some holidays.
- Prior experience preferred, but not required.
Education and Work Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience as a Busser in a full-service, high-volume restaurant preferred, but not required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary for extended periods of time, reach, and communicate in person and by telephone.
- The employee is occasionally required to move up to 25lbs, ascend/descend on ladders, and move in confined spaces.
