TITLE: Center of the Plate Buyer DIVISION: Procurement
REPORTS TO: SVP Merchandising FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt/Salary
Good Source Solutions, a manufacturer and distributor of food products, is a growing company specializing in providing cost effective products and solutions for our customers and vendors. We do this through teamwork, problem solving and respectful interactions. The purpose of this integral position within the organization is to source value-oriented foods products that will help maintain and grow top line sales and margin.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Must be able to identify and secure suppliers based on price, quality, and relative need for the sales department as indicated by the area of product category assigned. Negotiate the best deal possible – highest quality at the lowest cost. Demonstrate a technical knowledge base of commodities as assigned.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developandmaintainsupplierrelationshipthroughvisits,showattendanceandbusinessreviews
- Keepcurrentonandcommunicatemarketpricesandtrends
- Executeorderstimelywithaccuracyforoptimumservicelevel
- Resolveproblemsbetweensupplierandvariousinternaldepartmentsinatimelymanner
- Evaluatesuppliersanditemsbasedonprice,quality,andservice
- Sourceand/ordevelopmentofnewvendorsandproducts
- SupportsalesbyofferingOpportunityBuys,completingbids,negotiatingpricing,performing cuttings, and participating in training
- Vendorsetupandmaintenance(Navision&CRM)
- Maintainallvendorcontracts(setup,extensions,renewals,andconfidentialityagreements)

- Setupandmaintainvendors,locations,contactsanditemsinNAVISIONandCRM
- Placeorderswithvendorsinatimelyfashion
- Processallconfirmationsandfreightassociatedwithordersinatimelymanner
- EnsureallrecordsaremaintainedinNAVISIONandCRM,includingpricing,locationavailability, pack/size, pallet configuration, vendor contact, etc.
- Beproficientinallprogramsrelatedtothefunctionsoftheresponsibilitiesabove
- Demonstrateinitiativeandproblemsolving
- Maintainbaseofsalesandmarginsoverpreviousperiod,workingtoexceedfinancialobjectives in this area as indicated by manager
- Continuetodeveloprelationshipwithkeysuppliersandseekingadditionalsuppliersasdeemed necessary for the categories assigned
- Workindependently,establishpriorities,andmakedecisions

EDUCATION/EXPIRENCE:
- 2yearsofbuyerexperience
- Bachelor’sdegreepreferred
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Professional office environment. Primary office environment is ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
