POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs daily material planning and purchasing activities in order to maintain proper inventory levels, achieve cost reduction and maintain tool uptime. This is a full time limited duration benefited position not to exceed 180 days. This position primarily will support Equipment Engineering to source new parts and expand our repair process for cost reduction. Additional responsibilities will be added as appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Plans, schedules, monitorsand acquires theinventory of stored materials and manages the repair parts process and third party quotes for additional cost savings.
- Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased.
- Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities.
- Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards.
- Work with Equipment Engineering to drive the quoting process, new sourcing and tool uptime.
- Manage to a supplier value matrix which includes evaluating vendor pricing, reliability, on time delivery, overall quality and terms.
- Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are deemed inadequate..
- Recommend cost saving proposals for alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility. Exposure to normal office elements such as external noise.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- AA degree in Supply Logistics Management, Business or Math or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- 1 to 2 years minimum successful procurement and supplier management experience required.
- Experience in a semiconductor environment and related commodities desirable.
- Oracle purchasing and/or planning experience a real plus.
- Proficient in Micro Office tools especially Excel required.

- Proven track record in successful negotiation with the ability to influence outcomes.
- Ability to multi-task, be self-motivated and set proper priorities.
- Highly focused, flexible, productive and organized.
- Have the ability to visualize downstream results of your actions.
- Have a solid understanding of the inner workings of MRP such as purchasing and planning parameters and item master set up.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written),
- Ability to support 24-hour operation if needed and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
