We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Buyer to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and improving purchase orders, supplier relationships, and sourcing strategies. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's success by ensuring we have the right products at the right time, at the best possible cost. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the buying process, from identifying potential suppliers to negotiating prices and terms. This role requires a high level of analytical skill, commercial awareness, and negotiation ability.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies and manage all aspects of the buying process.
2. Track, report, and improve key performance indicators related to the buying process.
3. Identify potential suppliers, visit existing suppliers, and build and maintain good relationships with them.
4. Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.
5. Process payments and invoices.
6. Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future.
7. Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
8. Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
9. Develop a purchasing strategy and lead its implementation.
10. Deliver cost savings for the company through the negotiation and renegotiation of contracts.
11. Ensure suppliers are aware of business objectives.
12. Attend meetings, trade conferences, and exhibitions to learn about new industry trends and make contacts with suppliers.
13. Develop creative and innovative procurement processes.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
2. Proven experience with purchase orders, supplier management, and sourcing strategies.
3. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
4. Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze market trends and assess their impact on procurement activities.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing and inventory management software.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
8. A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
9. Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) will be considered an asset.
10. Ability to travel as needed to meet with suppliers and manufacturers.
11. A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach.
12. A team player with the ability to also work independently.
