JOB SUMMARY:
This coaching position is in the athletic department at John Sedgwick Middle School. John Sedgwick Middle School is a three-year comprehensive program that operates on a semester system. The mission of John Sedgwick Middle School reflects the goals of the school improvement plan that focus on promoting intellectual growth in students through meaningful education enhanced by positive interpersonal relationships among staff, students, parents, and the community; and the development of a secure, caring, supportive, safe and trusting environment in which students become responsible, contributing members of a changing society. John Sedgwick Middle School – It’s a Matter of Pride!
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of coaching all phases of the sport.
Responsible for equipment pre-season and post season inventories.
Be available to drive team vans.
Assist in administration/refereeing of contests.
Available on practice days.
Supervise athletes at all times.
Available for home and away contests.
Supervision of athletes at all time.
Demand strong team discipline and sportsmanship.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, trainers, athletic director, and administration.
Follow all coaching duties listed in John Sedgwick Middle School handbooks.
Reports to the John Sedgwick Middle School Athletic Director and School Principal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current certificated employee of the South Kitsap School District.
Previous participation in the sport.
Previous coaching experience.
REQUIREMENTS:.
Valid and up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification PRIOR to beginning coaching experience.
Valid Washington driver's license and proof of insurance.
Fingerprints prior to beginning coaching experience at the expense of employee (Washington State Patrol and FBI Background Clearance).
SEASON:
Spring 2025
SALARY:
As per negotiated agreement and verified coaching experience from other school districts.
