CI (Continuous Improvement) Machinist - The Specialty Manufacturing Company

The CI Machinist is a key member of the team striving to continuously improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost in all areas of the company.

Verifies operations to be performed and material to be used on each job as directed by the standard work, Team Leader, or Group Leader.
Sets up Manual or CNC equipment using Quick Change Over (QCO) methodologies.
Ability to create and troubleshoot CNC programs on machine control.
Ability to select tools for a new job and trouble shoot tooling issues on existing jobs.
Design and implementation of automated manufacturing production lines using robotics/PLCs
Design and implement product testing equipment.
Perform DFM analysis in collaboration with product design engineers.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, as well as production personnel to review and machine assembly tooling fixtures and Engineering Prototypes.
Be a key member of machining components and assist in building and implementing custom machines specifically intended for our internal use or use of our customers.
Operates machines and produces consistent quality parts to specifications in the time frame allowed.
Uses measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for quality. Responsible for adherence to 1^st Articles and Quality Plans.
Maintains a safe work area.
Maintains a clean work area consistent with our 5S requirements.

Experience:

Knowledge/Skills:

Setup and operation of all types of CNC machining equipment, understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, metric measurements, measuring devices and inspection equipment, shop math, problem solving, and mechanical aptitude.
Must have strong time management skills.
Must be able to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

Tool Room and Factory environment. Work on a variety of machining and/or machining related equipment.
