CLINICAL COORDINATOR PHARMACY

POSITION SUMMARY:
The pharmacy clinical coordinator is a clinical pharmacist responsible for oversight of all clinical pharmacy operations. This includes planning, implementing, and directing clinical pharmacy services to provide high quality patient care by optimizing drug therapy, minimizing adverse effects, and reducing costs to the hospital. The pharmacy clinical coordinator provides expert patient-specific pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical care, acts as a resource to other health care professionals regarding use of medications, and maintains cost-effective use of medications. The pharmacy clinical coordinator is responsible for planning, supervising and organizing various clinical pharmacy activities, as well as training and contributing to the professional development of clinical staff. Committees and responsibilities include planning and participation in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, the Medication Safety committee, organization and delegation of the clinical tasks, projects, and research for the department, organization of clinical staff scheduling, as well as precepting and/or mentoring new staff, pharmacy residents, and pharmacy students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required.
Required length of experience:
Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required.
Minimum of 5 years of hospital work experience preferred.
Required licensure, certification or registry:
Current licensure through the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist is required.
