Title: Certified Medical Assistant / CMA
Salary: $16 - $20 / hour depending upon education and experience
Full-time and part-time available:Full-time is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and part-time is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

- Work under supervision of various providers in an outpatient clinic setting providing basic and routine assistance with client care delivery within the medical assistant scope of practice in accordance with agency policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations.
- Perform administrative support functions with front desk, and certain clinical duties under supervision of the Director of Outpatient.
- Duties include welcoming consumers, check in preparation for visit, assist with obtaining medical information, and verify consumer information, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, insurance certifications/prior authorizations.
- Prepares routine materials, proofreads, verifies and edits all materials for accuracy and clarity.
- Perform interviews as indicated to obtain clinical information, record medical history, vital statistics, and other pertinent information including test results in medical records.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies as authorized by prescriber.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by psychiatrist. Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets or other prescriber instructions to consumers.
- Assist prescriber with examinations/treatment/equipment and inventory including giving injections or performing drug/laboratory test collection.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to any age-related needs of the consumers served.
- Must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate service needed by the consumer group.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a medical assisting program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Active certification by Association of Medical Assistants.
- Certifications required: CPR, First Aid. Completion of externship required.
- At least six months experience as certified medical assistant preferred.
- Must be able to type at least 40 wpm.
- Computer knowledge required with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
