Title: CMM Programmer / Mechanical Inspection
Department: Quality
Reports to: Quality Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for creating CMM programs independently.
- Inspect parts on CMM and manual inspection on surface plate to assure compliance to both customer and internal drawings
- NCMR documentation and CA
- Create and implement inspection plans for incoming and production
- Prepare FAI reports IAW AS9102
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 7 years’ experience in manufacturing
- 5 years’ experience in CMM programming
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Office and the internet.
- Proficient with surface plate technology, shop math, and mechanical inspection instruments, and blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of GD&T
- Experience with PC-DMIS is desired
- Basic knowledge of AS9102 requirements
- In Depth knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements
Physical Demands:
- Light physical exertion required
- Lifting/carrying Maximum lbs: 50
- Frequent lbs: less than 10
Work Environment:
- Works in inspection room
- I acknowledge that I have been advised that safety glasses should be worn, along with any other recommended safety equipment in various areas of the shop.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
It is important that the individual is aware that they will not be programming the CMM all the time. There will be times where I am asking them to help with inspected parts and creating FAI reports as well as accepting or rejecting jobs. Other than that they just need to have extensive GD&T knowledge, CMM programming experience (preferable with PC-DMIS) and the ability to read blue prints and use manually inspection equipment when needed.
