Job Summary
Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, housekeeping tasks and other related support services essential to our clients’ health. Observes, records and reports all changes to supervisor. All Home Care Aides must demonstrate competence in performing the necessary skills and only perform those skills on the plan of care.
Duties and Responsibilities Vary depending on the client, may include:
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following Home Helpers standards, procedures and maintaining security precautions.
- Performs home management tasks, housekeeping, laundry, shopping and errands
- Meal prep according to instruction and assists with feeding when required
- Helps family members care for the patient by advising on nutrition, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
- Records information and notifying supervisor of changing or unusual conditions.
- Complete ongoing training and skills by participating in educational opportunities.
- Adhere to professional standards, federal, state, and local requirements.
Qualifications
- PCA (Personal Care Aide) certification, Home Helpers issue
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- No prior felony or reoccurring misdemeanor convictions
- Multi state background check
- Valid driver’s license and insurance
- Minimum of 2 year clean driving record
- Current TB Test
- Current CPR and First Aide Certificate
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Job involves performing tasks under the direction of supervisor, completed in residence of clients. Residence may include homes, senior living, clinical settings, rehabs, hospitals, etc. Work requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy in observing, recording and reporting. An appreciable degree of physical effort or strain. Moderately heavy activity, may include but not limited to lifting, constant stooping and walking.Good communication skills required with clients, their families, Home Helpers office, supervisors and other employees. Enable a safe, effective environment, health promotion and maintenance, verbal communication, listening, training, dependability, emotional control, medical teamwork for clients.Position Specifics.
