Job Title: CNC Field Service Technician
Location: Southeast United States
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Field Service Technician with expertise in maintaining, troubleshooting, and rebuilding multi-axis mills and lathes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC controls, specifically Siemens or Fanuc, and will be comfortable traveling for up to a week at a time to service customers' machines. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can provide excellent technical support while maintaining a high level of professionalism in customer-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on CNC multi-axis mills and lathes.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues related to CNC machines.
Rebuild and retrofit CNC machines as needed to restore or enhance performance.
Work with CNC control systems (Siemens and/or Fanuc) to configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade machine tools.
Conduct on-site machine installations, calibrations, and alignments.
Provide technical support to customers, offering expert advice on machine operation and maintenance.
Maintain accurate service records, including diagnostics, parts used, and services performed.
Train customers on basic maintenance and machine operation best practices.
Travel up to a week at a time to various customer locations (typically domestic, but may include international travel).
Qualifications:
Proven experience with CNC multi-axis mills and lathes, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and rebuilding.
Proficiency with Siemens and/or Fanuc CNC controls.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently in the field.
Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays, for up to a week at a time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous field service experience is highly desirable.
Experience with additional CNC controls or automation systems.
Associate degree or technical certification in CNC maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
