Aria Signs and Design is a top-tier architectural signage manufacturer and we are looking for a FRIENDLY, PUNCTUAL, and RELIABLE individual to join our team of Shop Helpers. This is an entry level position that will require candidates to perform various tasks including maintaining areas around all of the CNC machines, keeping them clean, free of debris and organized at all times, loading/unloading material for the lead machinist, and paying attention to details and instructions that are given to them. The ideal candidate will be be a self starter, energetic, dependable, and possess a positive attitude. Someone that is able to assess the environment and not need to be told to do something before it gets done. The right person for this position will gradually learn the machines in the hopes that eventually they will be able to operate them without instruction.
This is an entry level position and the candidate will work directly under CNC supervisor engaging in the production of machined parts by performing the following duties, but not limited to:
- Cleaning areas around all the CNC machines, tools, and other equipment.
- locate and deliver to the CNC machinist the material, tool, and/or supplies. he may need to complete the project
- Load, stack, and transport raw material, finished cuts, tools, via rolling cart, overhead crane, or forklift (after demonstrating the ability to operate forklift/overhead crane safely).
- keep scrap pile neat and empty when needed to avoid clutter
- assist in positioning and fixturing if necessary
- De-burrs post-cut material to clean up edges.
- Label and store all finished work neatly and visible to anyone looking for it..
- Mark raw materials with identifying information ie: material, material thickness, size, and project assigned to if available .
- Expected to clean and organize work area daily during normal hours of operation without needing to be instructed to .
- Our work week is a 45-50 schedule (7a-5p M-F & most Sat. 7a-Noon) unless otherwise specified by management (Overtime is a part of our regular work week). Pay is bi-weekly.
- Always be productively working on something, acclimate quickly, and have the drive to perform duties without always needing to be instructed.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, ability, and/or characteristic needed to successfully perform essential duties and responsibilities.
- Be dependable and have reliable transportation to 77039
- Ability to understand and communicate fluently in English (both written and verbal).
- Legally be able to work in the United States.
- Ability to read a tape measure in 1/16" increments.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely is a plus.
- Most importantly, the ability to follow direction without deviation
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; however, lifting aids are available and recommended to be used for any object exceeding 30 pounds. The employee is regularly required to stand, reach, bend, and stoop, lift, carry. Stand for long periods without needing to sit and doing so in a warehouse with uncontrolled climate.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery such as routers, lasers, forklifts and materials being transported by cranes, etc. The noise level is moderate but continuous. Safety glasses and steel-toe shoes are required at all times. Wearing PPE is mandatory in warehouse at all times.
