UW Medicine Supply Chain Management has an outstanding opportunity for a **CONTRACT SPECIALIST** .
**WORK SCHEDULE**
+ 100% FTE, Days
+ Monday - Friday
+ Hybrid, 1 day a week onsite **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**
+ Facilitates both contracting and analysis work for the Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO)
+ Responsible for the execution of regularly scheduled data exports and primary user of data to create cost savings analysis and contract compliance analysis and reports
+ Accountable for coordinating UW Medicine policy and strategic direction in association with other units whose interests and expertise are crucial to successful resolution of our mission. **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** UW Medicine Supply Chain's objective is to ensure our patient care experience is enhanced by delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized supply chain management expertise. This includes a primary focus on customer service, as well as maintaining appropriate levels of general, medical, and surgical supplies throughout each facility. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provide leadership and direction for procurement and contracting activities to UW Medicine departments
+ Participate in resource planning, assessing and prioritizing requirements for complex programs including issues of emerging technology advances in surgical and clinical equipment, contracting, consignments, patient safety, and the use of the internet for procurement and contracting transactions
+ Plan, award, and administer contracts for goods and services covering a wide range of technically complex products and serve as liaison to ensure effective overall operation of the procurement, contracting and payables system
+ Develop long term procurement and contracting strategies and implement procedures and systems which will support programs and continued growth.
+ Coordinate with clients regarding their requirements; drafting of technical specifications; recommending technical assistance and proposing standardization of goods when appropriate.
+ Solicits vendor response by approved, procedural methods for specific competitive contracts; selecting the appropriate method, i.e. Request for Information, Requests for Proposal, telephone quotation, Request for Quotation, Request for Bid; Request for Qualification and Quotation, direct negotiation; fully and completely document the reasons for process selection.
+ Develops and drafts contracts that are compliant with UW Medicine Medical Centers, University of Washington and State of Washington rules and regulations.
+ Conducts financial analysis to meet departmental needs by utilizing Supply Chain tools and processes to make data-driven recommendations
+ Develops and/or recommends contract language to ensure vendor performance; reviewing all vendor contracts prior to forwarding to the Attorney General's Office.
+ Advises clients of existing or potential policies and/or procedures that may effect their requisitions
+ Coordinates with the Medical Centers Clinical Engineering Departments to inform and monitor the acceptance of capital and minor equipment for use within Perioperative Services locations
+ Solicits vendor response by approved, procedural methods for specific competitive contracts; selecting the appropriate method, i.e. Request for Information, Requests for Proposal, telephone quotation, Request for Quotation, Request for Bid; Request for Qualification and Quotation, direct negotiation; fully and completely documenting the reasons for process selection.
+ Analyzes bids for multi-commodity purchase contracts and/or procurement of products with complex features; recaps vendor responses when required in a clear, easy to understand fashion; auditing responses according to established procedures; selecting and informing appropriate parties of the selection in positive, concise fashion. **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in a healthcare, supply chain management or other quantitative field.
+ Three (3) years of experience in procurement and contracting activities in support of a healthcare organization, preferably in the public sector, especially in a research/teaching setting.
