DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION
REPORTS TO: CASINO GENERAL MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS:

CPA/CONTROLLER JOB DESCRIPTION
HAVASU LANDING CASINO
DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION
REPORTS TO: CASINO GENERAL MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must qualify for a gaming license
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a directly related field
- 5 years of experience in casino accounting to include experience with casino financial reporting, cost benefit analysis and financial statement interpretation
- Extensive knowledge of financial operations and budget concepts
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
- Exceptional familiarity with MS Office with advanced Excel skills, accounting software, and databases, experience with Sage 100 preferred
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with GL functions and the month-end/year close process
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Exceptional skills in organizing budgets, statements of finances, payroll, and expenditures
- Thorough knowledge of Title 31, SARC, and CTRC
- Extensive Management skills
- Must possess excellent communication, organizational, written, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of insurance risk management, pension funds and investments
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- Oversee the operations of accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, general ledger, revenue audit, inventory, purchasing, and file retention
- Ensure compliance with all State and Tribal gaming regulations and the Tribal adopted minimum internal controls
- Manage the casino’s accounting practices, including maintenance of fiscal records, preparation of financial reports and projections
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Prepare and coordinate long-term operational and capital budgets for GM approval
- Develop financial, budgetary, and internal control policies and procedures
- Develop and implement financial strategic planning
- Manage all aspects of financial planning, cash projections, and special financial analysis
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Enforce compliance with internal and external financial goals
- Perform cost benefit analysis of major capital purchase outlays and of transitioning externally procured high dollar value items to an in-house service/product process
- Monitor and issue compliance with Title 31, SARC and CTRC
- Responsible for the safety and security of all casino and resort financial records in keeping with all applicable regulations
- Audit internal operations to ensure proper checks and balances for all departments
- Perform related functions as assigned
