Reports to: Loan Review Manager
Position Summary:
The Credit Analyst will review commercial customer accounts and SBA 7a loan portfolios to identify, evaluate, and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to the bank. As an analyst, you will gather required documentation from borrowers, review financial statements, check publicly available information, and write the credit summary for loan committee review and approval. All loans will be evaluated using the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the SBA Servicing Matrix as a guide.In this role, the Credit Analyst incorporates the Bank's Culture Playbook of Beliefs, Behaviors, and Outcomes to deliver an accurate, legally enforceable, and quality product.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business, finance, or accounting; and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Analyzes credit data and financial statements of individuals or businesses to identify the degree of risk involved in lending money or extending credit
- For businesses, compares to similar businesses in terms of liquidity, profitability, and credit histories.
- Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and opinions for lenders on new, renewal, and existing loans.
- Resolves customer complaints and verifies transactions through consultation.
- Identifies delinquent accounts through the review of individual or commercial customer files.
- Ensure that all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies, and report as needed for timely resolution.
- Service client needs for loan modifications and/or pay-offs.
- Review loan files as needed to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with lending guidelines.
- Perform site visits and other customer inspections.
