Under general supervision performs professional duties in the application of Computerized Tomography and Diagnostic Radiology services. Demonstrates proficiency in performing all CT exams, and Diagnostic Radiology exams, administering contrast media and other related patient care services.

Responsibilities:Job Performance
- Correctly performs all prescribed CT procedures in an efficient
- Correctly performs all prescribed Radiology procedures in an efficient manner
- Can work independently and critique exams.
- Demonstrates competency in preparing patients for procedures and the administration of contrast media.
- Can work independently and critique exams.
- Can navigate working in CT and X-ray during assigned shiftUtilizes good judgment to plan effectively and solve problems
Patient Care
- Provides patient education as needed for exam and ensures all consents and forms are signed prior to exam/procedure as indicated.
- Demonstrates competence in age-appropriate care coordination
- Obtains and records patient history and interprets physician orders correctly
Quality Improvement
- Is cognizant of radiation safety to self and others.
- Assures equipment is operational prior to patient care
- Reports any malfunction of equipment to appropriate personnel (clinical specialist/manager)
- Logs in technical information and completes necessary reports/survey complying with all regulatory agencies and hospital policy/protocol.
- Participates in hospital-wide process improvements
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology with equivalent training and experience as required by the licensing bodies.
Experience: Clinical Rotation in CT as student technologist. 1-2 Years in Diagnostic Radiology Preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s):Registry eligible team members who have obtained a state of Illinois Temporary License may perform duties in Illinois but must be registered by The Iowa Department of Public Health. (IDPH) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography within 90 days of their first day of employment and obtain a permanent license with the State of Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) within one year of their first day of employment.Must pass ARRT CT board exam within 18 months of hire date.
