The Cardiovascular Quality and Process Improvement Specialist leads all activities designed to support clinical excellence and clinical improvement initiatives throughout the Heart and Vascular Institute. This position utilizes quality concepts and team facilitation skills to lead clinical improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for analyzing and reporting outcomes data that support stakeholders’ decisions related to quality initiatives, patient safety & performance improvement initiatives. S/he will be responsible for preparing, analyzing and distributing reports in the form of dashboards, scorecards or other presentation tools. The Cardiovascular Quality and Process Improvement Specialist works closely with Directors to plan, prioritize, and implement clinical improvement initiatives as well as establish quality initiatives to include peer review processes for clinical areas. This position also collaborates with department leaders to establish objectives and standards regarding regulatory accreditations, registry agencies and compliance functions for the Service Line.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or health care related degree is required. (Five year experience directly related Cardiology Quality and/or Data Analytics experience maybe considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree).
- Three years clinical or healthcare related experience is required.
- Strong analytic skills to appropriately assess problems and needs; present data in a concise meaningful format, and the resourcefulness and sound judgment to propose solutions; Skills to effectively communicate with multiple departments to attain the highest quality and most effective provision of service to patients, family, physicians, and community; Ability to organize work effectively to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously, to establish priorities and distribute effort appropriately among tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity; Excellent written communication skills required to express complex ideas and proposals clearly and effectively to reader. Strong oral communication skills to express ideas or instructions clearly and concisely to staff, either in a group or individually; Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint) including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and conditional formulas. Proficiency with Power BI Preferred.
