About the Job
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
- Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
- Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
- Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
- Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA’s STIG prior to deployment.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
- Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters.
- Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
- Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
- Dress, terminate, and test cables and components.
- Ability to work with power tools and ladders.
- Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance.
- Install, maintain, and repair voice and data communications systems.
- Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- 2-4 Years Experience
- Certifications:
- Data Cabling Installer (DCI) certification
- Fiber Optics Installer (FOIC) certification
- Clearance: Must possess Secret clearance
